It takes more than just continuous output to get anywhere with a blog

Site speed is an essential element of any campaign and for good reasons. You’ve also got to prioritize index and site structure when reviewing your technical SEO – obvious choices but absolutely paramount. Location search is growing every year and we are using our mobile phones daily to search for answers and solutions locally to us. Google is pushing towards more and more personalized search results, so in order for you to perform well, you’ll have to ensure that you provide a better user experience that keeps people on your site. Every piece of content should have the user in mind. This also applies to SEO. You can’t create your next piece of content, or carry out keyword research, without knowing your audience. Long-tail keyword phrases are among the building blocks of an SEO strategy. They are used to optimize copywriting, metadata and link-building strategies.

What is duplicate content?

SEO and user experience (UX) go together. A solid SEO strategy based on careful analytics analysis will boost your website’s search results rankings which will result in more eyes seeing your website. A good user experience will lead to more users visiting, staying on and converting on your website. Focus on keywords that have higher search volume but don’t neglect long tail keywords. If optimized right, you can get more traffic from keywords with less search volume. Avoid unwieldy phrases and unnecessarily long descriptions, instead trying to say as much as possible with the smallest word count necessary. Google tends to prefer Featured Snippet content that begin logically as an answer would. Google’s mission is to organize the worlds’ information and make it universally accessible and useful. Therefore, Google wants to show a user the best result possible, the result that best fits their search query.

Do users like my content?

Use keywords in the URL of your page. Using a website URL that’s full of symbols and numbers will hurt your ranking since most people aren’t searching for numbers or symbols. You will receive more traffic by giving your site relevant keywords. Long form content is an inbound marketing tool that has recently grown in popularity amongst marketing professionals. These pieces of content go against the trend toward smaller and more easily digestible pieces of content. While there plenty of differences between SEO and content marketing, there are also many areas where they overlap. Taking advantage of this overlap and using it in your website is the quickest way to get more people to visit your site. Guest Blogging simply means writing an article for another site. By doing this, not only will you be directing that site’s audience straight to your content, but you will also be generating an incredibly useful backlink. This is also a great way to increase your site’s reach and expand your audience, increasing your following and thus potential to build further backlinks and rank higher on Google. For many businesses the goal is to get their business to position number 1 on Google, but did you know that there’s a new top spot on Google called position zero. You’ve probably noticed these results but maybe not understood them properly. Position zero is all about using featured snippets to give an informative answer to a user’s query. It’s not uncommon for the results that are further down the first page listings to be featured in position zero.

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "If you’re goal for a guest post is to receive a backlink in return, then you would want to make sure their website has a number of good quality backlinks. The number of quality backlinks a website has will determine how powerful a link you will get." Your competitors may be investing more in their own SEO campaigns, outperforming you in the process. SEO for small businesses doesn’t need to be complicated. You can improve your visibility in search engines and get visitors to your business’s website by focusing on 4 things – keyword selection, creating good content, on-site optimisation, and backlinks. In link analysis, search engines measure who is linking to a site or page and what they are saying about that site/page. While doing a backlink audit, analyzing toxic backlinks and removing them can be a lengthy and tedious process, it is worth doing if you really want to see your website perform well in the search results.

Did you migrate from HTTP to HTTPS or are planning to do so? If so, it’s best to monitor after so you can gauge the impact on rankings and traffic. The quality of the content you create and post to your website and on social media sites will have an impact on how people feel about your website, and if they ever visit at all. It appears that when attempting to improve search engine ranking for a web-site, a position in the top six of the search engine results page has never been more important. Even web pages that currently have a top search engine ranking cannot afford to be complacent. One thing’s for sure though, Google is getting smarter. It’s now much harder to take shortcuts or to pull the wool over its eyes and cheat your way to the top – you have to earn your place. Remember, Google doesn’t like content written for SEO purposes.

Don;t leave shady backlinks in place

It’s hard to imagine that just 10 years ago, SEO was a discipline governed by blackhat marketers whose sole objective was to increase rankings and drive traffic. Long story short—it wasn’t pretty, and Google didn’t like it. If you have a real business, the same advice applies. You should decide if you are going for a churn and burn method or need a safe and fool-proof way to rank BEFORE jumping into SEO and building links. Blogging is a great way to stay up to date while easily generating new, relevant content. Blogging regularly (ideally once a week at a minimum) can have significant implications for search engine optimization, since each new blog entry represents a new web page. Errors record page requests thatfailed. Server errors are identified by status codes. HTML markup errors are identified passively by crawlers. Major search engines report errors in their dashboards Search engine optimization works best when errors are identified and corrected. When writing your content, be realistic about the chances of that content to rank. If you are in a highly competitive market, content works very well as a marketing tool and/or as input for social media. But it will probably not get you that number one spot in Google, and that’s fine. Manage your expectations.
